Voxeria is a free browser game. This page explains what data is collected when you play, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, reach out on Discord.
What we collect
- Save data. Your world, inventory, and progress are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). This never leaves your device unless you choose a multiplayer or shared-world feature.
- Multiplayer & shared worlds. If you join or host a shared world, your chosen username, room code, and in-world actions are synced through our backend (Firebase) so other players can see them. Chat messages, if enabled, are also sent through this backend.
- Crash & diagnostic reports. If the game crashes, a small technical report (error message, build version, browser info) may be sent automatically to help us fix bugs. This does not include personal identifiers beyond a random session ID.
- Hosting logs. Like any website, our host may log standard technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and analytics purposes, outside of our direct control.
What we don't collect
We do not require an account, do not ask for your email or real name, and do not collect payment information (Voxeria is free). We do not sell data to third parties.
How data is used
- To let you save and resume your world.
- To power multiplayer and shared-world sessions between players.
- To find and fix bugs and crashes.
- To keep the game and its chat reasonably safe from abuse.
Your choices
You can clear your local save at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this page. You can avoid multiplayer syncing entirely by playing solo. Chat, where present, is optional.
Children's privacy
Voxeria does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what's described above (a chosen in-game username, which need not be a real name). If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as the game changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
